Lenovo Has Launched Its K8 and K8 Plus Models in India

The technology giant in the world Lenovo, after introducing its K8 Note smart phone in India last month, launched the Lenovo K8 and the K8 Plus on Wednesday. The smart phones belong to the same K8 family and equipped with Android Nougat 7.1.1.

The Lenovo K8 Plus is exclusively available from Flipkart. Users can get the smart phone starting August 7 at Rs 10,999 for the 3GB RAM+32GB variant. The 4GB RAM+32 inbuilt storage variant will come in the Diwali season. No price and availability specifics are mentioned for the 4GB RAM model. The Lenovo K8 is also said to arrive soon with offline retailers. The price details was not revealed yet by the company.

One of the highlights of the Lenovo K8 Plus is the dual-rear setup, same like what we saw with the K8 Note. The cameras help bring an improved 'Bokeh' effect. After clicking the shot users can change the subject focus in the foreground and background. It has 13MP+5MP rear cameras along with F/2.0 aperture, Depth Mode, Professional Mode and more. The company says that while the 13MP sensor clicks the image with clarity and colours, the second camera creates a depth map and differentiates the foreground with the background. At the front, there is an 8MP camera with F/2.0 aperture and LED flash.

The Lenovo K8 Plus is made using 5000 Series Aluminium and has an overall design on the similar lines as the K8 Note. It comes in Venom Black and Fine Gold colour variants.
Sporting a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display the Lenovo K8 Plus's screen also has 178 degree viewing angles, 450nits of brightness and oleophobic coating for fewer fingerprint smudges. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone runs on the octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor clocked at 2.5GHz along with 3GB RAM. For those unaware, the K8 Note came with deca core MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797) processor along with 3GB/4GB RAM options. The K8 Plus has three slots for a micro SD card and dual SIM cards. It includes 32GB inbuilt storage and support for USB OTG connectivity.

Lenovo K8 Plus has a single speaker at the bottom powered by Dolby Atmos. The 'Music Key' button continues to make its appearance in the handset. The button was introduced in the K8 Note. By default it lets users control the music playback. However, they can also customize it to launch other features and apps. Backing the K8 Plus is a 4000mAH battery. The firm says its new smart phone can run for up to 20 hours of video playback and up to 100 hours of music playback.

The Lenovo K8 is a less powerful device than the K8 Plus. Running pure Android UI, the smart phone will sport a 5.2-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display and will be powered by the Media Tek Helio P20 processor. Unlike the K8 Note and the K8 Plus, the K8 will have a single 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front-facing camera. The same 4000mAh battery will be backing the device. Lenovo says the K8 can run for up to 48 hours on a single charge on regular usage. Sporting a metal build, the Lenovo K8 will also include Dolby Atmos surround sound speakers.
